Employment Skills Training
Develops specific abilities that can enhance job attainment potential, improve job performance, or help secure promotions. Consumers will become equipped with the knowledge and competencies needed to succeed in their careers. Certificates or credentials will be attained.
Forklift Training
A course designed to provide the knowledge and skill necessary to safely operate a forklift in the workplace. Material will be presented in a classroom setting as well as hands on training using the forklift. A written and application test is given at the end of the class. An Operator Training Certificate is presented to those who pass.
Cost of Class:$150

Driver’s Education Training
Driver’s Education Permit Class– The ACES Driver’s Education Permit class is designed to provide individuals with the confidence and skills needed to be a safe driver. Through discussion and demonstration of laws and rules of the road, recognizing and understanding road signs, operating a vehicle, and mechanics of a vehicle, participants will complete the program prepared to earn their driver’s license. Students will receive up to 6 hours of instruction and a review class along with transportation to DMV for testing. The Permit test fees will be included in the cost of the class.

- Consumers with a disability who are receiving other services through VR can be referred by their VR counselor.
Driver’s Education Behind-the-Wheel Class– This course offers multiple one-on-one drives with an Alabama Certified Driving Instructor. The student will receive a maximum of 6 hours of training or until competency is achieved. An ACES modified driver’s education vehicle will be used for training and when taking the road test. Transportation to the DMV for the road test is included in the cost of the class.
