Training of Direct Service Staff
Professional development post employment is ongoing during tenure for all staff having direct service contact with consumers. Training sessions specifically designed for those working in our grant programs are attended on an annual basis by those staff members. All other staff are given the opportunity to attend the Alabama Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (AARF) and Association for Persons in Supported Employment (APSE) conferences with breakout sessions dedicated to current topics affecting our consumers and training sessions devoted to job development and job readiness issues. Every employee hired providing job coaching services attends Supported Employment Certificate Based Job Coach Training and receives a Supported Employment Training Certificate. Employees are encouraged to take advantage of many other training opportunities throughout the year as they arise.
The Achievement Center – Easter Seals’ goal is to maintain a safe, clean and accessible environment to protect the health and safety of our staff, consumers, volunteers, employees and visitors. To achieve this goal we will obtain and perform internal and external inspections, establish and test emergency procedures, perform initial and annual training, and establish a safety committee.
